A note about this series: I began with wanting to celebrate the female form, and
the obvious choice to me was to refer back to the Rubenesque beauties. Rather
than idealize the past, I celebrated the contemporary with modern media (tempera
and photography) and modern women, complete with tattoos and piercings.
